About ABA

Abe Belkind & Associates, Inc. (ABA) was created in 1997. ABA provides consulting service to industry and performs research and development of new technologies under contracts with industry and government. ABA has conducted long-term research and development projects (R&D) under contracts with Advanced Energy Industries, Edwards BOC, BOC Gases, Structured Materials Industries, and the US Army. ABA provided technical consulting to numerous small and large companies including Aearo Company, American Superconductor, ALCOA of America, Catalytica Energy Systems, Energy Photovaltaics, Engelhard-CLAL, Gurley Precision Instruments, Kearfott, Medtronic, Nova Phase. Second Sight LLC, Orthobond Corp., Sensor Research and Development Corporation, ThinFilms, Inc. and Viratec Thin Films. Long-term research and development projects have been conducted under contracts with Advanced Energy Industries, Edwards BOC, BOC Gases, Structured Materials Industries, and the US Army.

ABA has made substantial contributions to the development and implementation of reactive sputter-deposition of dielectrics by pulsed DC reactive sputtering (PDCRS) and pulsed DC gas flow sputtering (PDCGFS) and gas flow sputtering using a hollow cathode (GFHC). ABA has developed two new technologies, Biased Dual Magnetron Sputtering (BDMS) and Dual Anode Sputtering (DAS) that are now established industrial processes. ABA is actively developing various plasma processes including plasma cleaning of large surface areas (PCLA) of metals and other surfaces, plasma enhanced CVD with shower-head type radical sourc (SHPECVD), plasma treatment of metals and polymers for medical purposes, and water purification using discharge in bubbled water (DBW), gas and surface treatment using atmospheric dielectric-barrier discharge (DBD), and, lately, plasma cleaning and treatment of titanium implants. The success of ABA in R&D is based greatly on its tight collaborations with Stevens Institute of Technology, Structured Materials Industries, BOC Group, Advanced Energy Industries, Orthobond Inc. and other companies.

ABA has offered various short courses at the annual conferences of the American Vacuum Society (AVS), the International Conference on Metallurgical Coatings and Thin Films, and the Society of Vacuum Coatings, as well as lectures and seminars on recent developments in the fileds.
